This Privacy Policy describes how Molly's Owl Facts ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our internal security operations center (SOC) lab infrastructure, including any SMS-based alert communications sent through our platform.

§ 02 Who We Are

Molly's Owl Facts is a personal, non-commercial home lab operated for the purpose of security research, infrastructure learning, and personal education. We do not sell products or services to the public.

§ 03 Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate our internal alerting systems:

• Phone numbers — collected solely from the lab operator for the purpose of receiving system alerts via SMS.
• System event data — generated internally by lab infrastructure (logs, metrics, alerts); not collected from any third party.
• Contact information — provided directly and voluntarily by the individual opting in to receive SMS notifications.

We do not collect personal information from visitors to this site beyond what is explicitly submitted via the opt-in form.

§ 04 How We Use Information

Information collected is used exclusively to:

• Send automated SMS alerts and notifications from our internal SOC infrastructure to the authorized lab operator.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain lab systems.

We do not use collected information for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose.

§ 05 SMS Messaging

SMS messages sent from our platform are automated system alerts — for example, security events, threshold breaches, and service status notifications. Messages are sent only to individuals who have explicitly opted in. Message frequency varies based on system activity. Standard message and data rates may apply.

§ 06 Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share personal information with third parties, except as required to deliver the SMS service (e.g., transmission through Twilio's messaging platform) or as required by applicable law.

§ 07 Data Retention

Phone numbers and opt-in records are retained for the duration of the lab's operation or until the individual opts out, whichever comes first. Upon opt-out, records are removed within a reasonable time.

§ 08 Security

We implement reasonable technical and administrative controls to protect information. This includes encrypted transmission and access controls consistent with our internal PKI and network security infrastructure.

§ 09 Your Rights

You may request removal of your information or opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by contacting us directly at admin@mollysowlfacts.com.
